Dr. Fuller’s books include Chaplain to the Confederacy:  Basil Manly and Baptist Life in the Old South (Louisiana State University Press, 2000) and Contending Voices:  Biographical Explorations of the American Past (Houghton Mifflin, 2003).  He is currently researching the life of Francis Wayland, an antebellum Baptist minister and educator.
