Professional Activities:
Dr. Thakar has published an article for Asian Survey
and a book chapter in Engaging India: US Strategic relations
with the World's Largest Democracy, in additions to numerous
pieces in the Monitor. He has participated in numerous
presentations aimed at informing and educating the community
at large on matters pertaining to his subject areas, including
panel discussions on television. He has written and obtained
grants from the United States Institute of Peace and the Rockefeller
Foundation to research areas of Indo-US security cooperation.
His current research interest concerns finding a peaceful
resolution of the Kashmir conflict in South Asia.
